The Telugu question paper of the ongoing SSC exams was leaked in Tandur mandal of Vikarabad district.
The question paper appeared in the cell phones of several people minutes after the commencement of the exam.
The police registered a case in the issue on the basis of a complaint by the Mandal Education Officer, and found that a biosciences subject teacher named Bandeppa was responsible for the leak. They apprehended him and started an investigation.
Vikarabad district Collector Narayana Reddy held a press conference on the issue and revealed the details. He said that the accused took a picture of the paper and posted it on a WhatsApp group soon after the commencement of the exam at 9:30 am, and that though he deleted the paper shortly, by then it had already been seen by some of the other members of the group.
The Collector said that the MEO had received the information about the leak at 11 am, and immediately lodged a complaint with police.
Meanwhile, the State education department has asked the Collector to find out how the question paper was leaked before the completion of the exam, and submit a report on the issue. The department has already suspended the superintendent of the centre and the invigilator following the incident.
