All-India Congress Committee (AICC) spokesperson Abhishek Manu Singhvi on Friday stated that the party high command was making all efforts to resolve the Telangana issue by January.
Talking to media persons, the Congress spokesperson said that the senior leaders were holding consultations with all allies in the United Progressive Alliance government to resolve the Telangana statehood issue.
He raised serious objection over the resignation of three MLAs - S Satyanarayana, Jupally Krishna Rao and T Rajaiah - from the party for the cause of Telangana and to their joining the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS).
Describing the Congress leaders joining the TRS as "hasty" and "unfortunate", he advised Congress leaders not to take such extreme steps.
"Telangana cannot be achieved through resignations and joining other parties. As the issue is sensitive, they must observe restraint and patience," he stated.
The Telangana issue will be solved through political will only, he pointed out. (INN)
