Where Telangana has been witnessing
a scary surge in the number of Covid-19 cases in the past few weeks, a bulletin issued by the state's health department today reveals that there has been a slight fall in the daily case tally.
The bulletin says that after 58,742 tests were conducted in the state on Sunday, 5,694 new cases were recorded as against the 7,430 cases reported on Saturday.
Of this, 1,352 positives were reported from the GHMC area, while Rangrareddy accounted for 483 fresh cases, Medchal-Malkajgiri for 427, Warangal Urban for 393, Sangareddy for 249, Nizamabad for 258, Siddipet for 238, Karimnagar for 231, Mahabubnagar for 221, Nagarkurnool for 132, Khammam for 121, Mahabubabad for 119, Vikarabad for 109, and Wanaparthy for 101.
The cumulative case tally now stands at 4,56,485 and the number of active cases at 80,135.
Telangana also saw 49 Covid-19 fatalities on Sunday, a fall from Saturday's 56 deaths. With this, the state's total death toll rose to 2,417.
On a happier note, 6,206 recoveries were recorded yesterday, pushing up the total number of recoveries to 3,73,933. Currently, the recovery rate in the state is 81.91%.
