Congress leader and MP A Revanth Reddy today came down heavily on Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao yet again, and said that the latter would be remembered by future generations as the "traitor who abandoned the farmers of the state", and as the CM who "failed" to extend his support to the ongoing farmers' agitation against the Centre's three new farm laws.
He alleged that while 18 parties of the Opposition had chosen to stand by the farmers, KCR had chosen to extend his support to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the issue.
The Congress leader also made clear his own party's stand on the Acts, and said that it would continue its ongoing Rajiv Rythu Bharosa protest program till the laws were repealed.
"Though CM KCR, who, as a representative of the people, is supposed to stand by the farmers, he is siding with the PM. However, the Congress will not do so. We will fight by the side of the farmers till they get justice," he said.
The MP had censured the TRS government for its treatment of the issue yesterday as well, and had flayed the CM for "reversing his stand" on the issue of the implementation of the new laws.
Reddy had also demanded that the CM immediately pass a resolution in the state Assembly opposing the implementation of the legislations if he truly supported the farmers of the state.
