As promised in the Assembly by municipal administration minister K T Rama Rao on the last day of its monsoon session, the state government today issued fresh orders on the Layout Regularisation Scheme (LRS) of 2015.
The minister had promised in the Assembly session that fresh orders for regularising the illegal layouts would be issued on September 17.
The panchayat raj department duly issued orders in this regard amending the previous GOs 131 and 151.
The government took a decision to relax the stringent fee norms followed fervent appeals by the people. The political parties had also mounted pressure on the government to desist from levying hefty fees for regularizing illegal plots, houses and layouts.
The government has stipulated fees ranging from 20% to 100% for regularization based on the areas of the lands - lands are classified into slabs, with the lowest slab being lands less than 3,000 sq yards, and the highest being lands above 50,000 sq yards.
The people have to get online services by October 15 and pay the fees by January 31, 2021.
