Telangana Remembers Jayashankar; KCR Pays Tributes

Telangana today remembered Prof. Jayashankar on his 82nd birth anniversary, and celebrated it on a grand scale.

At Telangana Bhavan, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao paid floral tributes to the bust of the Telangana ideologue and offered glorifying tributes. He recalled the services of Jayashankar, who had given his entire life for the cause of statehood for Telangana and social causes. He exhorted the TRS leaders and workers to work with commitment for the State's development to enable Jayashankar's vision for Telangana to come true.

To mark the occasion, TRS leaders and activists cut a cake, distributed sweets and exchanged pleasantries. Deputy CM Mohammed Mahamood Ali, Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy, ministers, MP K Keshava Rao, MLAs, Mayor Bonthu Rammohan and others participated in the program.

IT & Industries Minister K T Rama Rao garlanded a statue of Jayashankar at the Agriculture University at Rajendra Nagar and paid rich tributes. On the occasion, he vowed that the State government would adopt Jayashankar's ideology for inclusive growth.

"Taking inspiration from Prof. Jayashankar, we are making relentless efforts for providing jobs to the youth, get more water share and spend funds for rapid development of the State with a focus on welfare. Chief Minister KCR is following the path shown by Prof. Jayashankar for transforming the State into a golden Telangana," he said.

He also advised the Opposition parties to stop creating hurdles to the developmental process.

As per the directive of the CM, all the government offices and institutions across the State also conducted Jayashankar's birth anniversary celebrations. In Warangal, Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari eulogized Jayashankar and recalled his services to the education sector and his efforts for getting jobs, waters and funds for the Telangana region.

"Prof. Jayashankar spread the statehood sentiment to other districts and rallied the people behind the movement for achieving a separate Telangana state. Following in his footsteps, KCR has redesigned the irrigation projects and is making efforts to get our rightful share of waters from the Krishna and Godavari rivers," he said. Never one to let an opportunity for it pass, he lambasted the Opposition leaders for criticizing the Kaleshwaram lift irrigation project.

In the Nalgonda district, TRS MP K Kavitha offered tributes to Jayashankar along with Party leaders. The Telangana Jagruthi conducted the celebrations, and the leaders distributed sweets on the occasion. Prof. Jayashankar was a towering personality who strove for social inclusion and the welfare of the people by achieving statehood, she said. Jagruthi was celebrating its own 10th anniversary on the same day, she added.
