Telangana Rail Roko Postponed
The Telangana Political Joint Action Committee postponed the 3-day rail roko agitation, this time, to 15, 16 and 17 October.

The Telangana Political Joint Action Committee has once again postponed the 3-day rail roko agitation, this time, to 15, 16 and 17 October.
Earlier, the rail roko agitation was planned on 12, 13 and 14 October.
The decision to postpone the agitation was taken by the steering committee of the TP-JAC, which met in Hyderabad on Tuesday.
According to the JAC, the agitation was postponed in view of the proposed maha dharna by the Telangana Employees' JAC, and also of the by-elections in the Banswada assembly constituency scheduled to be held on 13 October.
Meanwhile, the state police, the Railway Protection Force and other agencies have made elaborate security arrangements in view of the rail roko. Heavy security forces have been deployed at all sensitive places across the Telangana region.
In view of the rail roko, the South Central Railway, too, had cancelled 59 trains, partially cancelled 40 trains, diverted 70 trains, re-scheduled 11 trains and regulated 5 other trains.
Similarly, 78 passenger trains were cancelled and 14 trains were partially cancelled.
However, the SCR is now likely to issue a fresh schedule for its services from 12 to 14 October.
Similarly, later it may have to re-schedule its services from 15 to 17 October.
This is the third time that the JAC has postponed the strike. Originally, the 3-day rail roko was planned from 9 to 11 October. In view of Telangana leaders' visit to New Delhi, it was postponed to 12 to 14 October. (INN)
