Congress To Agitate Against T Power Tariff Hike

Telangana Congress president N Uttam Kumar Reddy announced that his party would launch a massive agitation against the hike in power tariff in Telangana.

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president N Uttam Kumar Reddy on Monday announced that his party would launch a massive agitation against the hike in power tariff in Telangana.

Addressing a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan, Reddy said that the state government's move to increase the power tariff was not justified, especially at a time when the global prices of crude oil were falling and coal prices too had been slashed.

He said that the average increase in power tariff by 4.42% would have an impact on several sectors, especially industry.

Reddy said that the Telangana Congress would finalise the agitation program during the meeting of its Coordination Committee to be held soon.

MLAs D K Aruna and Sampath Kumar, former minister D Sridhar Babu and Mahabubnagar DCC chief Obaidullah Kotwal were also present. (INN)
