The police today kept several BJP leaders under house arrest anticipating a series of protest programs by them in the wake of the arrest of their party's state president Bandi Sanjay.

Huge numbers of police personnel were also deployed at the CM's camp office Pragathi Bhavan.

The police kept several party leaders like MLA Raja Singh, MLC N Ramachander Rao, and former ministers D K Aruna and Motkupally Narasimhuli under house arrest.

High drama took place at the residence of Aruna. She told the police that she was going to campaign in the Dubbaka Assembly constituency for the party's candidate for the constituency's Assembly seat, and demanded that they to allow her to leave. But the police did not allow her to go for a long time, and conceded to her persistent demands only after a lot of drama. Even then, they sent an escort vehicle along with her vehicle, and asked her to not go towards Pragathi Bhavan.

BJP leader Motkupalli Narasimhulu also faced a similar problem. However, the police eventually allowed him too to go to Dubbaka.
