Despite the Centre giving clear indications that it was in favour of giving statehood to the Telangana region, the Telangana Political Joint Action Committee announced that it would go ahead with its Maha Dharna in the city on August 1.
Talking to reporters after meeting Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao at his residence, TPJAC chairman M Kodandaram said that the people would accept nothing less than a state with 10 districts and with Hyderabad as its capital. He warned the Centre of making any changes in the proposed boundaries of Telangana.
Kodandaram said that the TPJAC would continue its agitation till the formation of the state of Telangana. (INN)
