Former minister J C Diwakar Reddy says that he would prefer Rayalaseema to go with Telangana if the state is bifurcated.

Former minister J C Diwakar Reddy, on Friday, stated that he would prefer Rayala-Telangana if the Centre decides to bifurcate Andhra Pradesh.

Talking to reporters in the Assembly premises, Diwakar Reddy said he was against the division of Andhra Pradesh. However, he said if the Congress High Command decides to bifurcate the state, then he would prefer Rayalaseema to go with Telangana.

When asked about the resignations of the MLAs from Andhra and Rayalaseema region, he said that the resignations were aimed at pressuring the Centre to keep the State united. However, he did not specify whether or not he would resign from his post. (INN)
