The Telangana Muslim Joint Action Committee (TMJAC) expressed indignation on Wednesday, at various pro-Telangana parties' decision to celebrate September 17th as 'Telangana Liberation Day'.
Talking to media persons, TMJAC president Mushtaq Malik wondered how Telangana activists could celebrate a day which saw many people from Telangana being slaughtered.
Malik said that his outfit would neither celebrate any Formation Day or Liberation Day but only the 'Nizam Day', as many Muslims had been massacred during the Police Action. He said that his outfit would offer its respects at the grave of the former Nizam of Hyderabad, Mir Osman Ali Khan, on that day.
Later, the TMJAC will proceed to the Gun Park to pay respect to the Telangana Martyrs, he said.
The TMJAC chief also warned the Telangana Rashtra Samithi of withdrawing support if it joined any communal party.
