Leaders of the ruling TRS continue to get infected by the coronavirus at an alarming pace.
Labour minister Ch Malla Reddy is the latest to test positive for the highly contagious virus, and is under home isolation.
According to reports, Reddy and his wife both tested positive. The doctors are offering treatment to the couple.
The minister had been actively participating in development programs, and rather predictably ended up getting infected.
And it was not just Malla Reddy either today - another high-ranking TRS leader, L B Nagar MLA Sudhir Reddy, was also reported today as being infected by the virus.
They join Deputy Speaker Padma Rao Goud, Home Minister Mahmood Ali and several other MLAs of the state, mainly of the TRS, who have also been infected by the virus, though almost all of them have recovered now.
Meanwhile, the state continues to witness a steep rise in Covid-19 cases due mainly to the reverse migration of people from Hyderabad to districts and villages. The total positive cases have reached 77,513, and the deaths have touched 615. 54,330 persons have recovered, and the active cases are therefore 22,568.
