The
Martyrs Convention being held to disburse financial help to the families of those who lost their lives for the cause of Telangana will be organized with the permission of Pradesh Congress Committee.
Talking to media persons after the conclusion of Telangana Congress leaders meeting at MLC Yadav Reddy’s residence, MP G Vivek revealed that the meeting would be held on October 2nd at Ashoka Hall in Karimnagar.
Vivek added that apart from Telangana leaders, ministers, MLAs and MLCs would also participate in the event.
Vivek assured that the Martyrs Convention would be organized following the guidelines issued by Congress president Sonia Gandhi.
The programme would revive and strengthen the Congress position in the Telangana region, the MP hoped.
The leaders would participate in the programme after paying tributes to the Father Of The Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, to mark his birth anniversary at Gandhi Bhavan in Hyderabad on Saturday, Vivek said.
Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee, Union Law Minister and AP In-Charge Affairs Veerappa Moily and PCC Chief D Srinivas had given permission for organising the event as party programme, the MP pointed out.
Vivek said that financial assistance of Rs. 1 lakh would be given to next of kin of those, who laid down their lives for the cause of Telangana.
