Expressing serious concern over the Congress' failure in the by-elections, Panchayat Raj Minister K Jana Reddy, on Thursday, appealed to the High Command to "open its eyes" and take a favourable decision over the formation of a separate Telangana state.
Talking to media persons after emerging from a meeting with Telangana Congress leaders over the party's
debacle in the Telangana region, Jana Reddy stated that the party would be completely wiped out from the region if the government drags the Telangana issue further.
He said that Congress leaders from the region would convene a meeting soon after the conclusion of the Assembly session, to chalk out a strategy to mount pressure on the High Command over the statehood issue.
Jana Reddy said that the party cadre would be collectively held responsible for the defeat in the by-elections, and that the reasons that led to the failure would be analysed in a review meeting. (INN)
