Guv Denies Sending Report To Centre
Governor E S L Narasimhan has denied sending any report to the Centre on the present political situation in the state, especially in view of the general strike in the Telangana region.
Governor E S L Narasimhan has denied sending any report to the Centre on the present political situation in the state, especially in view of the general strike in the Telangana region.
In a brief interaction with reporters in Tirupati on Friday, the Governor evaded questions relating to his visit to New Delhi and his likely meetings with the national leaders including Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh.
However, he said that he did not send any report to the Centre.
It may be mentioned here that the Centre has reportedly asked Narasimhan to submit a status report on Telangana on 8 October.
Besides Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, the Governor is also likely to meet Home Minister P Chidambaram, Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee and United Progressive Alliance (UPA) chairperson Sonia Gandhi.
Earlier, the Governor participated in the Srivari Chakrasnanam as part of the Brahmotsavam celebrations.
During the pooja, apparently due to a drop in blood pressure, Narsimhan fainted for a few moments. However, later, talking to media persons he strongly condemned media reports of him being unwell. He said he was completely fit and healthy, and told the media not to broadcast misleading reports. (INN)
