Medical Education Minister Kondru Murali Mohan, on Monday, said that steps would be taken to prevent the outbreak of dengue, viral fever and other diseases across the state.
Talking to reporters at his chambers in the state Secretariat, the minister said that officials have already been issued instructions to take precautionary measures at the Panchayat level.
He claimed that required medicines are available at all District Hospitals and Primary Health Centres. He added that the Principal Secretary (Medical and Health) has been asked to coordinate with the District Collectors and District Medical and Health Officers to monitor the situation on a daily basis.
Kondru said that officials have been asked to take up awareness campaigns to inform the general public to refer even normal fever cases to registered medical practitioners. He said that serious cases would be referred to larger hospitals.
