Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu on Friday asserted that his party had already clarified its stand on the Telangana issue.
Responding to allegations by some pro-Telangana activists during the fifth day of his "Vastunna Mee Kosam" padayatra in Mahabubnagar district, Naidu said that he had already sent in a letter, addressing the issue, to the Prime Minister. Despite his clarifications, some activists tried to disrupt his speech at Boodidhapadu in Maldhakal mandal. However, Naidu ignored the brouhaha and continued his speech.
The TDP chief alleged that the developmental activities in the state have to come a halt due to the prevalence of large scale corruption at all levels. He accused the state government of having failed in checking corruption and irregularities. He promised that the TDP would ensure a pro-people administration if it returned to power in the next elections. He also assured that all educated youth would be given employment.
Meanwhile, film star and Naidu's brother-in-law Nandamuri Balakrishna joined the padayatra in Amaravayi village on Friday. He walked along with Naidu for a while and also enquired about his health.
Talking to reporters later, Balakrishna described Naidu's padayatra, which entered 25th day on Friday, as a grand success. He said that the TDP chief was risking his health to understand the problems being faced by the people in the state. However, he clarified that he has no intention of joining Naidu's padayatra. (INN)
