Telangana Endowments Minister A Indrakaran Reddy today held talks with a team of archakas at the Secretariat.
The meeting has led to a positive result as the minister agreed to their demands, it is learnt.
He is likely to make a statement in this regard on Friday after taking up the issue with Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for his nod and a final call.
The minister said that he would announce the decision on September 4 after another meeting with the archakas.
The archakas have been on the warpath for about 10 days now for a salary hike, and its payment through treasury and other facilities. There have also been scenes of protests from some archakas who climbed atop temples to highlight their grievances in a more dramatic way.
Probably annoyed at the issue that has became a weapon for the opposition, the government is moving ahead to take a final call.
It may be noted that the government has hiked expenditure for pujas at temples to about Rs 6,000 a month.
