The Telangana High Court has issued notices to filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma responding to a petition filed by victims of the Disha encounter.
The counsel for the petitioners told the High Court that the decision of Varma to make a movie on the lives of the victims was causing a lot of emotional pain to them (the petitioners).
He said that the filmmaker was making attempts to show the victims as villains in the movie, and that the movie would force the families of the victims to leave their native villages.
He urged the High Court to issue a stay on the release of the movie.
The High Court later issued notices to the film director, and adjourned the matter for two weeks.
The father of Disha, Sridhar Reddy, has already filed a case in the issue and made a similar plea to the High Court.
