The Telangana High Court issued directions asking the KCR government to take into consideration the representation submitted by the Rural Medical Practitioners (RMPs) and Private Medical Practitioners (PMPs) of the state.
It asked the government to consider the request of the medical practitioners to provide paramedic training to them.
The representatives of the RMPs and PMPs had reportedly submitted a representation to the Telangana health department on June 5 and had appealed to them to organise the training in accordance with the stipulations of the 2015 GO, MS 428. The GO allows the government to provide 40,000 registered medical practitioners with community paramedical training.
The orders came after RMPS-PMPS Association chief P Venkanna filed a writ petition at the court due to the delay of the implementation of the GO. In the petition, he informed the HC that although GO 428 was released on June 29, 2015, the TRS government was not organising skilling camps or addressing the representation submitted by the body.
Venkanna urged the state's apex court to issue directions to the government to respond to the representation. Responding positively to the appeal, the HC asked the state government to take the representation seriously and to act on it in a timely manner as well.
