HC Asks Government To Allow Coronavirus Tests At Private Labs
The Telangana High Court today told the state government that it was a right of the people to pay money at private labs and get coronavirus infection detection tests done.
The Telangana High Court today told the state government that it was a right of the people to pay money at private labs and get coronavirus infection detection tests done.
It asked the state to allow the people to approach private labs and get themselves tested.
A division bench of the High Court passed these orders while dealing with a Public Interest Litigation filed by one Ganta Jai Kumar.
It asked the state government how it allowed the private hospitals and labs to perform Aarogyasri surgeries if it didn't trust them.
It told the private labs that they could apply to the ICMR to obtain permission to conduct the tests, and then extend treatment to the patients.
The court however made it clear that private labs and hospitals could hold the tests only after obtaining permission from the ICMR.
