The Telangana High Court today directed the state government to not vacate local people from the "encroached" lands of the Devaryamjal village on the city outskirts.
The Telangana High Court today directed the state government to not vacate local people from the "encroached" lands of the Devaryamjal village on the city outskirts.
The High Court issued interim orders in this regard.
A petition filed by a local P Kishan Reddy complained that government officials were threatening to demolish sheds and evict them from the lands in the Devaryamjal area.
He urged the court to instruct the government and the officials concerned to stop evicting them.
The court reacted positively to the plea and gave orders in his favour.
The government informed the court that it was conducting an inquiry into the lands row, and not evicting the locals from that area.
