On the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr tomorrow, Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan today extended her greetings and good wishes to all Muslims of the State.
Soundararajan said, "The festival of Ramzan signifies the spirit of charity, brotherhood, compassion, love and peace. I wish this holy occasion of Ramadan ushers in good health, prosperity and peace in the lives of people all over the world. The holy Ramzan is a reminder to us of the purpose of life as ordained by God, and that only through rigorous self-discipline will it be possible to realize eternal life. On this holy Eid-ul-Fitr day, let us redeem our pledge to respect the dignity of human beings, the sanctity of life and the solemnity of all faiths. Eid Mubarak to all."
Telangana CM K Chandrashekar Rao too wished the Muslims of the State on the occasion of Id-ul-Fitr.
The CM said that the fasting during the month of Ramzan imbued in the practitioners of Islam discipline and spirituality, and an attitude to help mankind. He expressed hope that the Muslims would celebrate the festival with happiness and gain the blessings of Allah with their prayers.
He also said that the "Ganga Jamuna tehzeeb" of Telangana was a model for the whole country, and that the State's efforts to protect communal harmony were sought to be emulated by many other States.
