Telangana Government To Purchase Full Paddy Yield

Finance Minister T Harish Rao today promised the farmers of the state that all their farm crop yield would be purchased by the government from them.

He instructed agriculture officials, staff and those working at the purchase centres to buy all the crop yields and pay the bills immediately.

Along with MLA Padma Devender Reddy, Rao visited a purchase centre in a village in Medak district.

Speaking on the occasion, the minister said that every seed produced by the farmers would be purchased.

"There is no need to worry about your crops including wet crops resulting from the untimely rains. You will also receive timely payments," he said.

Speaking about the government's agricultural initiatives, he added, "This time our farmers grew paddy in greater quantities as per CM K Chandrashekar Rao's instructions. Telangana tops the country in paddy production now. The schemes of Rythu Bandhu, Rythu Bhima, Rythu Vedikas and 24-hour free power to farming are clearly giving great results, and have become role-models for other states. KCR's vision and plan get credit for this golden harvest that the state is witnessing now."

Earlier, the minister inspected the register at the purchase centre and checked the details of the paddy procured, the quantities and the bills to be paid. He also interacted with the farmers at the purchase centres and assured them of full procurement and immediate payments.
