Hyderabad | 7th January 2018
Launching a padayatra from Siddipet to Nerella along with the Left parties and some peoples' organizations today, Telangana JAC Chairman M Kodandaram accused the state government of extending support to the sand mafia in the state.

Speaking on the occasion, Kodandaram alleged that only ministers and the Chief Minister's close relatives and aides were getting sand contracts in the state. He also alleged that the sand contractors were running countless lorries in utter violation of rules and regulations, and were also over-speeding. Due to the high speeds of the lorries the people were facing a lot of troubles but the government was not bothered about it, he claimed.

He also demanded that the state government punish the culprits of the Nerella incident, and said that he would continue the movement till the Nerella victims got justice.

Left parties leaders Chada Venkat Reddy and Tammineni Veerabhadram, and other leaders were present.
