SC Notice To Centre On Bifurcation

After Pranab Mukherjee approved the AP Reorganisation Bill, 17 petitions have been filed in the Supreme Court against the bifurcation.

The Supreme Court on Friday issued a notice to the Centre on petitions filed by former Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and others on the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh to carve out the Telangana state.

After President Pranab Mukherjee approved the AP Reorganisation Bill, as many as 17 petitions have been filed in the Supreme Court against the bifurcation. The petitioners include expelled Congress MPs Vundavalli Arun Kumar, Sabbam Hari and Rayapati Sama Siva Rao and YSRCP MP Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy. (INN)
