Telangana Congress Legislature Party leader K Jana Reddy today wanted the government to do justice to the "real" cultivators of the lands.
Speaking at the Assembly Media Hall on Wednesday, Reddy said that while he welcomed the Rythu Bandhu scheme, the present way of implementation of the scheme did not fulfill the aim of the scheme, and the government needed to ensure that the actual cultivators (as opposed to those who were merely the landlords) benefited from it.
He suggested that the state government convene an all-party meeting on Rythu Bandhu and elicit the views of the opposition parties, which were ready to provide suggestions.
Reddy also advised the state government to ensure that the pattadars (landlords) extended financial help to the cultivators (tenant farmers) if the need arose. The real cultivators were experiencing losses as the government had no perfect figures on tenant farmers, he said.
Reddy also congratulated the state government for not succumbing to the pressure of the ration dealers.
