Congress Slams JNTUH Over "Unfair" Detentions

Hyderabad | 5th November 2016
Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) Chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy today took a note of the thousands of students who were allegedly detailed unfairly by JNTU-H authorities.

Thousands of students under the NSUI leadership met the TPCC chief on Saturday at Gandhi Bhavan and apprised him on the "injustices" that were meted out to them by the officials as 1,000s of students were detained "unfairly".

They said that roughly 10,000 students were affected.

The officials also asked the affected students to repeat the course along with juniors, they said. But the vast difference in syllabi from year to year was causing problems to 10,000 students.

Uttam Kumar Reddy urged the students to remove suicidal thoughts, and said that death cannot be a solution to temporary problems such as these. He assured them that the Congress would do them justice by taking up a movement against the JNTU-H.

Reddy blamed the State government for the "unlawful" detentions and slammed them for supposedly failing to keep checks and balances on JNTU.
