Congress Leader Ravi Srinivas Suspended For Six Years
The party's Disciplinary Committee imposed the suspension on its Sirpur (T) Assembly constituency in-charge due to allegations of anti-party activities.
The Congress Disciplinary Committee today imposed a six-year suspension on Ravi Srinivas, the Sirpur (T) Assembly constituency in-charge of the party, due to allegations of engaging in activities against the party's interests.
The committee, led by Chairman and MP Mallu Ravi, reached a unanimous decision to suspend him.
This action followed a review of a complaint submitted by Vishwa Prasad, the President of the Komaram Bheem Asifabad District Congress Committee, concerning activities deemed contrary to the party's principles.
As per reports, Srinivas publicly criticized minister D Seethakka - then in charge of Adilabad and Panchayati Raj - during a press conference, worked against the party's official MLC candidate, and repeatedly attacked the District Congress Committee leadership.
Srinivas was already served a show-cause notice in March for violating party discipline and unity. The committee found that his actions undermined party cohesion and electoral strategy, prompting the unanimous decision to impose a long-term suspension.
