Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president Ponnala Lakshmaiah informed that dharnas would be organised on February 23 at all district headquarters against the Central Government's ordinance on land acquisition.

Speaking to media persons at Gandhi Bhavan on Saturday, Ponnala said that all leaders and workers of the Telangana Congress would participate in the proposed dharnas.

He also informed that the Congress legislators would move a private bill in the Telangana State Legislative Assembly and Council against the Central Government's ordinance.

He alleged that the ordinance was aimed at benefiting only the corporate sector, while neglecting the interests of the farmers in the country.

Earlier, he held a meeting with the DCC presidents, party spokespersons and office bearers to discuss the arrangements for proposed dharnas. (INN)
