Demanding that the State and central governments introduce reservations in the private sector, too, Congress senior leader and Rajya Sabha member V Hanumantha Rao staged a day-long deeksha at the Indira Park on Saturday.
Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader K Jana Reddy visited the deeksha camp. Speaking on the occasion, Reddy, too, said that the government needed to implement reservations in the private sector, too.
Pointing out that the writers of the Constitution had provided reservations keeping only government jobs in mind since the government was the largest employer in those days, he asked the State and Central governments to implement reservations even in the private sector, keeping the globalization and resultant steep rise in private sector jobs in the past two decades in view.
Several Congress senior leaders and other dignitaries visited the deeksha camp.
