Hyderabad | 14th June 2015
Demanding that the Telangana government implement 12% reservation for Muslims as assured during its electioneering, Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president N Uttam Kumar Reddy also made it clear that there would be no alliance with the MIM in the upcoming GHMC elections.
The TPCC chief convened a meeting in Gandhi Bhavan with the Greater Hyderabad Congress leaders on Sunday, and discussed the GHMC elections and AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi's tour of Telangana.
Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan later, Reddy said that he would take up a special program to infuse confidence among the settlers in the GHMC area.
Stating that the party had decided to lodge a complaint with Governor E S L Narsimhan on the defections being encouraged by the TRS and on TDP MLA Revanth Reddy's note-for-vote case, Reddy demanded that the government order a CBI probe into the defections issue.
He said that there was a chance that Rahul Gandhi might visit the two Telugu States on June 29 and 30.
Stating that GHMC Commissioner Somesh Kumar was behaving unilaterally along with the ruling party leaders with regard to the division of the Greater Hyderabad wards, Reddy expressed concern that the division of wards would be done to favour the MIM and the TRS. (NSS)
