Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) Working President Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka claimed that the winter session of the Legislative Assembly was a failure.
Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan on Saturday, Vikramarka said that the TRS government derailed from public issues and confined the session to publicize the TRS party's activities. He alleged that TRS members spoke 50 hours 49 minutes out of the 94 hours 56 minutes. The hours increased to 60 hours if one included TRS party's alliances, he claimed.
In House, the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao and IT Minister K T Rama Rao stole the limelight and spoke at the cost of other Ministers' time, the TPCC leader fumed.
He also alleged that the ruling Party did not answer the Opposition's questions on the Free Double Bedroom Housing and Mission Bhagiratha schemes. Vikramarka also raised the issues of farmers' loans and fees reimbursement arrears and the SC/ST sub-plan act.
The government cherry picked questions and answered them, and missed out on a whole lot of doubts, he pointed out. There was no answer from the government on the corruption within the GHMC, he recalled. The government was also not clear on land acquisition amendment and whether it was an act or a resolution.
The Legislative Affairs Minister T Harish Rao behaved authoritatively by not giving stifling the Opposition's voice, he alleged.
"This session of the Assembly was a complete failure," he added.
