T-Congress Upset Over Jayasudha Hobnobbing With TRS

Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee leaders on Monday took serious exception to the party"s former MLA and cine actor Jayasudha inviting TRS supremo and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to the audio release function on Sunday night of the film "Basthi" starring her son Shreyan.

Following her inclination towards the ruling party, the TPCC leaders are contemplating removing Jayasudha from the post of the party in-charge of the Secunderabad Assembly constituency.

It may be mentioned here that Jayasudha has been maintaining a distance from party activities after her defeat in the last election.

Speaking to mediapersons in Gandhi Bhavan on Monday, the Congress leaders pointed out that Jayasudha, in addition to inviting KCR to her son"s film program, had also touched his feet on the dais. In fact the Secunderabad Assembly constituency level meeting was scheduled for June 22, but was postponed due the Jayasudha and other leaders like Banda Karthika Reddy being at loggerheads.

There are rumours that the TRS was trying to rope in Jayasudha into the party in view of the upcoming GHMC elections. The TRS feels that a majority of the voters in the constituency are from Jayasudha"s Christian community, and that she may have an impact in the GHMC elections.

The Leader of the Opposition in the Telangana Council Shabbir Ali said the party would not suspend Jayasudha, but that the issue would be decided at a meeting to be held at CLP leader K Jana Reddy"s residence. (NSS)
