Congress MP Gutha Sukhender Reddy today complained to the Election Commission of India that the TRS government had been abusing its power to make gains in the Warangal Lok Sabha bypoll.
Accompanied by a team of party leaders, Reddy met Chief Electoral Officer Bhanwar Lal at the Secretariat and appealed to him to initiate action against the government for violating the election code by releasing Rs 150 crores towards fee reimbursement and announcing other sops.
The MP also urged the CEO to take action against the State ministers and legislators for violating the code.
Speaking to the media later, Gutha also accused the State government of using official machinery in the electioneering.
The KCR regime was afraid of a defeat in the bypoll and was therefore announcing sops to lure voters, he alleged.
