CM Rosaiah said today that the PM assured him that the Congress High Command would take the request for a timeline for the Telangana Committee seriously.
At the end of his New Delhi visit, CM Rosaiah said today that the PM asked him about the response in the state to the announcement of the Justice Srikrishna Commission, and that he had informed the PM that the people of the state wanted a firm timeline for the Commission's report. The PM assured him that the Congress High Command would take that request seriously.
He also said that he did not bring up the issue of cabinet expansion, and that he would do that on his next visit to New Delhi. He also said that he will not respond to allegations that he is partial to some parts of the state, by saying that he is the CM of Andhra Pradesh. He said that he would leave it to the Congress High Command to take action against those belonging to his own party who made such allegations.
As is his wont, he also criticised Chandrababu Naidu for losing control of the Telugu Desam Party. He said that severe mental pressure on Naidu had resulted in the Telugu Desam Party losing its relevance in the state's politics.
In other news, Machilipatnam MP Konakalla Narayana ridiculed TRS honcho KCR's statement that there were just about 4 lakh people of Rayalaseema and Andhra in Hyderabad. Narayana said that there were at least 40 lakh people from the Seemandhra regions that had settled in Hyderabad.
