Commercial Taxes Department To Reward Informers

The Telangana commercial taxes department has introduced a round-the-clock toll-free no. 1800-425-3787 under the supervision of the Central Enforcement Wing.

It may be mentioned here that the State government had already introduced a reward scheme for informers who provide vital information of tax-evading transactions, businesses done without bills, movement of vehicles without valid documents and so on.

The reward amount is 10% of the tax proceeds or Rs 50,000, whichever is lesser.

The commercial taxes department appealed to citizens to provide information about clandestine trades and help generate revenues for the government and also benefit from the reward.
