Revanth Reddy will officially distribute licensed surveyor certificates to 3,465 individuals who have completed government training, on October 19.
Hyderabad | 17th October 2025
Telangana Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy today announced that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy would officially distribute licensed surveyor certificates to individuals who had completed government training.
The ceremony is scheduled to be held at Shilpa Kala Vedika in Hyderabad on October 19.
The minister convened a review meeting at his office in the Secretariat, which was attended by Revenue Secretary D S Lokesh Kumar and Survey Commissioner Rajiv Gandhi Hanumanth.
During the meeting, he said that in the first phase a total of 7,000 individuals were trained, out of which 3,465 successfully qualified. The second phase of training for an additional 3,000 individuals had begun on August 18, 2025, and an eligibility examination would be conducted under the supervision of JNTU on October 26, he added. Candidates who qualified in this examination would undergo a 40-day apprenticeship programme, with their services expected to commence by the second week of December, he said.
He added that each mandal would have 4 to 6 licensed surveyors appointed, depending on the land area.
Reddy said that close coordination was required between the revenue and survey departments to reduce disputes and ensure land measurements and records were accurate and transparent. He said that the survey department had been neglected for the past decade, leading to inadequate staffing at the field level and consequently poor public service delivery. The surveying system could ensure security and justice for the people only if it was strengthened, he said.
He also said that with the implementation of two key measures - appointing GPOs in every revenue village and licensed surveyors in every mandal - the government aimed to reinforce the system and ensure efficient delivery of land-related services.
"The government is committed to maintaining clear land records and providing hassle-free and corruption-free services to the people," Reddy said.
