Telangana CJ Transferred, Ujjal Bhuyan New CJ
President Kovind today transferred the Chief Justice of Telangana Justice Satish Chandra Sharma and appointed him the Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court.
President Ram Nath Kovind today issued orders transferring the Chief Justice of the Telangana High Court Justice Satish Chandra Sharma and appointing him as the Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court.
In an official notification, the President also directed Justice Sharma to assume the charge of the office of his new post.
The notification dated June 19, 2022, says: "In exercise of the power conferred by clause (1) of Article 222 of the Constitution of India, the President, after consultation with the Chief Justice of India, is pleased to transfer Shri Justice Satish Chandra Sharma, Chief Justice, Telangana High Court, as the Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court and to direct him to assume charge of the office of the Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court."
Justice Ujjal Bhuyan has been appointed as the new Chief Justice of the Telangana HC.
Justice Sharma had a tenure of just over 7 months as the Telangana Chief Justice, having taken oath on 11th October 2021.
