T-Budget Allocates Rs 1,942 Crores For Hyderabad
The government will provide assistance to the GHMC, Hyderabad Metro Rail and Water Board (HMWSSB) in order to make the city a world-class metropolis.

The state government has allocated Rs 1,942 crores for the development of Hyderabad in its budget for 2015-16.
"The government is providing assistance to the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), Hyderabad Metro Rail (HMR) and Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) in order to make the city of Hyderabad a world class metropolis," Finance Minister Etela Rajender said in his budget speech in the Telangana Legislative Assembly on Wednesday.
He said liberal assistance was being given to the HMWSSB in order to complete Krishna Phase-III and Godavari Phase-I to bring an additional 260 million gallons per day of water by the end of the year.
In fact, Krishna Phase-III water will reach the city during this summer season itself, he said.
Apart from completely cleansing the Hussain Sagar lake, the government was planning a strategic road and skyline development in Hyderabad with an amount of Rs 1,600 crores, he stated.
The Hyderabad Metro is scheduled for completion by July 2017 as targeted.
The amounts proposed in Budget 2015-16 for the GHMC, HMR and HMWSSB are Rs. 526 crores, Rs. 416 crores and Rs. 1,000 crores respectively. (INN)
