The BJP MPs from Telangana on Tuesday came down heavily against Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for passing an anti-CAA resolution in the state Assembly.
They staged a silent protest at New Delhi on the issue in front of the B R Ambedkar statue located in Telangana Bhavan.
The protest program was led by Karimnagar MP and state BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar.
Speaking on the occasion, Kumar demanded that the state government immediately cancel the resolution.
He alleged that the resolution was anti-constitutional. He also said that KCR was talking without knowing the facts about the Act, and that the attitude of the CM was bringing disrepute to the state.
He claimed that there was no harm to the Muslims of the country due to the CAA.
He asked the CM what would happen due to the anti-CAA resolution.
He alleged that the resolution was made just to please the Muslims of the state.
He made it clear that the CM and MIM leader Akbaruddin Owaisi would have to both register their names under the NRC.
He alleged that the CM was ignoring the suicides of the farmers, and issues of the students and the employees, and trying to distract attention through the resolution.
