Telangana BJP Lauds Modi On New Year Announcements
State BJP President K Lakshman said that the PM, through the sops, rewarded the people for accepting the tough changes brought in by demonetization.

Telangana State BJP President K Lakshman today asserted that the slew of measures announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi after 50 days of demonetization for farmers, senior citizens, small enterprises, women and the rural poor would help accelerate the growth of the nation.
Addressing the first media conference of the new year at State Party office at Nampally on Sunday, Laxman said that the Prime Minister's bold decision to demonetize the two currency notes as a crackdown on black money and corruption, and his New Year announcements were a big boon for rural and downtrodden people of the country.
Welcoming the sops announced by Modi, Lakshman said that the former created an atmosphere conducive of welfare and development, and exhorted the people to continue extending cooperation to the PM in his vision to destroy corruption.
Detailing various measures announced by the PM, Lakshman stressed the need to give more importance to agriculture and housing sectors. He said that the Prime Minister announced a special housing scheme under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) with an intention to provide housing for poor people in rural and urban areas.
Also, conversion of Kisan Credit Card to RuPay card, credit guarantee to MSMEs, 8% interest on deposits up to to Rs. 7.5 lakhs for ten years for senior citizens and financial help of Rs. 6,000 for pregnant women to meet medical expenses were rewards for those who faced hardships standing in queues outside banks, he added.
The State BJP President suggested that the TRS government convene a meeting of banks and bankers and hold discussions to provide benefits to people as announced by the Prime Minister.
The State government should work as a bridge between the people and the bankers, he added.
