BJP Lambasts KTR For "Misleading" Graduates

BJP national Vice President D K Aruna today lambasted Telangana Minister K T Rama Rao for "doctoring" employment figures to "mislead" graduates.
Hyderabad | 26th February 2021
BJP national Vice President D K Aruna today lambasted the Telangana Government for "lying" about job recruitment in the state during its six-and-a-half-year rule.

Addressing a press conference on the matter, she accused Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao of "deserting" the educated youth of Telangana, and said, "Both KCR and his son, minister K T Rama Rao, are resorting to lying on the matter of job recruitments. This is because the MLC elections in the graduates' constituencies are just round the corner. Instead of doing these things, the government should inform the people of the state about the correct number of vacant job posts it has filled over its six-year rule."

"KTR has claimed that the TRS government filled 1.32 lakh vacancies. But the figure cited by him is incorrect. Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) chief G Chakrapani, in his annual report, had clearly stated that about 29,128 jobs were filled by the TSPSC between July 2015 and September 2020 when there were a total of 39,952 vacancies. What about the rest of the unfilled posts? Why are there 2,530 vacancies in Telangana's universities even now? Out of the 40,000 vacancies created due to retirements in the last seven years, why have only 32,000 been filled? Further, certain studies have shown that the state has seen a 26% rise in unemployment. Why is KTR not addressing these issues? The TRS is clearly misleading the people of the state with doctored figures, all for a few votes. But the government has duped the graduates and the unemployed youth for far too long. They will not buy into its lies this time. After all, the TRS has failed miserably in keeping any of its promises," Aruna alleged.

The BJP leader then challenged the TRS leadership to an open debate on the matter, saying, "Let the CM or his son come and discuss the matter openly in a public debate at the Osmania University."

She also expressed displeasure at the government for trying to divert the attention of the people from its "failure" to fill 50,000 vacancies in the state's government departments by citing the election-time code of conduct, and said that they would see right though the "ploy" and teach the party a "befitting lesson" in the upcoming elections.

AICC spokesperson Dasoju Sravan had also recently launched an acerbic attack on TRS working president KTR and had accused him of "doctoring" employment-related figures. Sravan, like Aruna, had also challenged the leader to an open debate where the issue of employment generation in both the private and public sectors could be discussed in detail
