BJP senior leader and Secunderabad MP Bandaru Dattatreya on Wednesday expressed confidence that the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre would provide 500 MW of additional power to Telangana to overcome the ongoing energy crisis.
Speaking to media persons, Dattatreya said that Union Power Minister Piyush Goyal had assured the Telangana unit of the BJP that he would extend full cooperation to Telangana in the State's efforts to deal with the power crisis.
He hoped that the Centre would grant 500 MW of power to Telangana at the earliest.
Dattatreya urged Governor E S L Narasimhan to review the status of the water reservoirs in the States of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. He said that the two States should end their differences in the interest of Telugu people.
He held the wrong policies of the TRS government responsible for the suicide of more than 250 farmers in the State. He said that the government had neither waived off the crop loans nor promised any succour to the affected farmers.
He demanded that the government provide an ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakhs to the families of each of the farmers who committed suicide.
Speaking about the MIM winning two seats in Maharashtra, Dattatreya said that Majlis won the two seats by fluke. The Maharashtra Muslims would soon pack off the MIM back to the Old City of Hyderabad after understanding its real face, he said. (INN)
