Launching a scathing attack on the TRS government, BJP floor leader in the Telangana State Assembly G Kishan Reddy today accused the ruling Party of appeasing the AIMIM party.
Speaking to the media at State Party office on Friday, Reddy said, "It is embarrassing how the Chief Minister of the State goes to lengths to appease a party that had proudly opposed the bifurcation of united Andhra Pradesh. It is clear that the TRS is in a tacit understanding with the the MIM party. The MIM is not even worth the effort as this State is aware of the threats laid by its leaders against certain sections of this society. The ruling Party has stooped to a new low," Reddy said, adding that the TRS was treading the same path as the Congress has.
"The Chief Minister is literally consulting the MIM. What are the credentials of the members of that Party?" he asked.
He reiterated that KCR did not celebrate Telangana Liberation Day as the MIM was revived by allies of the Nizam who was ousted back then.
In reference to the newly formed districts in the State, Reddy claimed the State government had previously announced that the new district of Vikarabad would be rechristened Anantagiri. But later changed its mind due to pressure from the MIM.
The BJP leader opined that Hyderabad should be rechristened Bhagyanagar as other metro cities such as Madras, Bombay, Calcutta and Rajahmundry, too, were renamed.
Reddy also slammed MIM leader and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi's opposition to the Centre's proposal to bring in a Uniform Civil Code (UCC).
