T-Bill: TDF To Seek President's Help
The Telangana Development Forum has decided to submit a memorandum to President Pratibha Patil, requesting the introduction of the Telangana bill in Parliament.
Telangana MLAs, MLCs and MPs, under the Telangana Development Forum (TDF), on Monday decided to submit a memorandum to the President Pratibha Devsingh Patil, requesting the introduction of the Telangana bill in Parliament.
In a press statement, the TDF requested the President to initiate the necessary procedures according to Article 3 of the Constitution to facilitate the creation of a Telangana state immediately.
The forum stated the people of Telangana have been demanding the formation of a separate state for last 54 years, and during this time, many promises were made, only to be broken, and agreements were made, only to be violated.
The forum will appeal to the President to recommend the bill to the Parliament, and also refer the bill to the A P Legislature for the creation of a Telangana state immediately. This would enable Parliament to pass the bill before May 1st, the forum stated.
