Even after a double flip-flop by the Osmania JAC, it is not yet certain whether the Telangana bandh will continue tomorrow as well. The JAC had, earlier, decided to call of the bandh owing to the Medaram Jatara for the grandly celebrated Sammakka Saralamma festival in the region. Even today, APSRTC buses had kept away from the roads but pilgrims were provided with special buses.
However, all JNTU exams scheduled for tomorrow have been postponed.
Meanwhile, Eetela and Kodanda Ram both have condemned what they are terming provocative actions by the police - that of
lathicharging innocent students.
Kodanda Ram held Rosaiah and KVP Ramachandra Rao for the situation in Osmania today. He said the JAC would have been content if given permission to conduct the last rites for Venugopal in the manner that is being done for all Telangana leaders - taking the body to Gun Park near the Assembly.
He also accused Sabitha Indra Reddy of not asserting her authority during the ongoing violence in the Telangana region. Sabitha Indra Reddy, in a press meet, appealed to students and politicians to carry out the bandh peacefully, and to cooperate in bringing the atmosphere in the state back to normalcy.
Nizamabad ex-MP has filed a PIL in the Supreme Court asking for the speaker to accept the Telangana ministers' resignations made over the past month.
Congress leader DS has apprised Chidambaram, Ahmed Patel and Pranab Mukherjee of the happenings at Osmania University.
