The winter session of the Telangana Assembly and Council commenced today.
However, even before the proceedings began, BRS leaders staged a protest in front of the Assembly. The police detained them and removed them from the premises.
During the session, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy addressed the issue of the Telangana Thalli statue. The members briefly discussed the topic, and provided suggestions and feedback on the design.
The Assembly also resolved to officially celebrate the statue's founding day on December 9 every year.
Following this, the Speaker announced the adjournment of the Assembly session to December 16 as the CM is scheduled to visit other States for personal and official purposes from December 11 to 13.
The Chief Minister will visit Jaipur, Rajasthan, on the first day, and spend the next two days in Delhi. During this visit, Reddy is expected to discuss State-related matters with Union ministers and officials. There is also a likelihood of him meeting with the party high command.
With the Assembly session adjourned, TPCC President Mahesh Kumar Goud and other key leaders may accompany the Chief Minister to Delhi.
Sources indicate that the discussions with the Congress high command are expected to revolve around Cabinet expansion, filling nominated posts, and other important party matters.
