Telangana Assembly Approves TSRTC Employees Merger Bill
Minister P Ajay Kumar introduced the Bill in the Assembly, and all the members present gave their consent for the merger of the TSRTC into the government.
The Telangana Legislative Assembly today passed the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (Absorption of Employees into Government Service) Bill 2023.
Minister for Transport Puvvada Ajay Kumar introduced the Bill in the Assembly, and all the members present gave their consent for the merger of the TSRTC into the government.
Speaking on the occasion, Puvvada made it clear that the assets of the corporation would remain unchanged, and that the government would pay the arrears of the workers. He added that the same PRC which was now applicable to the employees of the government would be applicable to the TSRTC employees too in the future.
Denying the allegations made by the Opposition parties that the State government had taken up the merger of the TSRTC for selling its assets, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao said that these remarks were baseless and that the government would never do such things.
"The government has a responsibility. It will appoint young IAS officers and bring the Corporation on to the path to profitability. We will develop the TSRTC further and modernise bus stations across the State. If it is necessary, we will collect some more land for the development of the corporation in the future," the Chief Minister said.
